A. MACHINE DESCRIPTION
This machine has been designed to accommodate high volume precision production of a variety of parts. This is accomplished through CNC slides at all positions of the six spindle automatic lathe and greatly improves setup change and operation. This results in high productivity with the flexibility of single-spindle CNC turning machines.
1) All Slides are Numerically Controlled
Spindle drive and tool slides can be quickly changed to a different set-up without changing gears or cams. All tool slides: cross slides, end tool slide, and independent slides are numerically controlled and can be programmed.
2) High Accuracy
The spindle carrier is supported by living preloading cross roller bearings. Double each locator makes indexing repeatability extremely accurate to 0.0001”. The “compensation between spindle” functions (standard equipment on the M-T42E) produce consistently accurate parts from each spindle to 0.0004”.
3) Quiet Running
No change gears, simple gear train and full covers help achieve a quieter machine.
4) Various Tooling
By combining a spindle stopping mechanism and attachments, polygon milling, recess milling, broaching, end milling, and cross milling can be performed.
5) Reliability
Based upon many years of experience in design and manufacturing of multi-spindle automatics, high reliability and superior workmanship is assured.
